Fourge

This project was a university project in which students created their own design team, including the name and identity. My team included designers John Causley, Jordan Ng and Alexandra Lee.

I helped the team come up with the name Fourge, as there were four of us, and the word ‘forge’ has connotations of making and creating.

Our team created a dynamic identity for our personal logo, a combination of F and the 4 symbol. It includes many variations of colour, pattern and shape.  Our aims for this project was to create a pictogram which represented our creativity and individual areas of expertise that we brought to the team. By creating a container based dynamic identity, we were able to express both our strength as a whole and as a sum of parts.

The Fourge Pictograms - these were used as our primary logos. The text beneath the logo, 'make, design, shape' was dropped to show how the identity would evolve over time.

Our approach to our identity was well-received by our tutors and peers and resulted in a high distinction mark.
